Hello Parents,

We had a great week!
-We continued to study the features of a map by creating a map of our classrooms as well as maps for our bedroom
-In math we have been working on interpreting graphs and creating survey questions to turn into graphs
- In Science we have begun to study plants by drawing diagrams of basic plant parts
-In art we put the first layer on our Autumn landscape paintings (pictured below)

Next Week:
-Wear an orange shirt on Monday in commemoration of the Canadian students that survived residential schools
-We will move on to looking at the map of Alberta and be introduced to the regions of the province
-In Science we will focus on plant seeds as well as germinating some seed that the students have collected
-In Math we will be learning some games that will allow the students to practice their basic facts in addition, subtraction and multiplication

Weekly Update: Sept. 9-13th, 2019

Hello Parents,

I hope you are having a fun filled weekend.

It's a quick update this week here's what we've been doing:
-In Social Studies we have ben learning about the features of a maps: Compass, Key/Legend, Titles
-In Math we have been working on collecting information turning it into bar graphs
-We completed a writing and math assessment over the last few week- working hard!

Next week:
-Picture day is on Sept. 26th
-In Science we will begin with our plant growth unit as students observe seasonal changes

Hello grade three/four parents!

Welcome to our classroom website for the year! Learning updates, pictures and important reminders will be hosted here on a weekly basis.

In our second week back we:
-Working on writing 3-5 sentences in our journals as we enter the classroom every morning
-Have begun our statistics math unit. This is a great way for the students to learn about each other and graph their findings as well!
-We have been generally asking the question "What is a map?"

Next week:
-Terry Fox Run: Tuesday, Sept. 17th, 11:30AM
-Meet the teacher! Thursday, Sept 19th, 1:00-8:00PM

Just a further reminder to make sure the your child has their information package sent back as well as a pair of outdoor shoes!
